Question: Which Texas town is home to a collection of water lilies cultivated by “the Indiana Jones of the water lily world?”

Answer: San Angelo. The International Waterlily Collection, comprised of over 300 varieties of water lilies grown in seven pools at the historic Civic League Park, is the work of the late Kenneth Landon, who traveled the world collecting rare specimens of the aquatic plant for more than 40 years. Landon bred the official water lily of Texas—the Texas Dawn—distinguished by its bright yellow, star-shaped flowers.
