Question: When was the first college football game played between Texas and Oklahoma?
Answer: The first game between the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma was played on October 10, 1900, in Austin. Texas won 28-2. That inaugural matchup began what is now known as the Red River Rivalry—and took place seven years before Oklahoma became a state in 1907.
Texas lost a heartbreaker to OU this weekend, 27-24, but UT still leads the series 65–52–5.
