Article Icon 1Texas National Guard Deployment in Limbo

A federal appeals court ruled Saturday that the Texas National Guard can remain in Illinois under federal control but cannot be deployed to protect federal assets until it hears further arguments.

The ruling follows a federal judge’s Thursday order that blocked the deployment on the grounds that it violates the constitutional principle of state sovereignty.

Judge April Perry said the deployment would only “add fuel to the fire” and suggested that “not even Alexander Hamilton could have envisioned one state’s militia to be used against another state’s residents.”

Critics of the activation have mocked the fitness of Texas National Guard members and called for a boycott of Texas-based companies. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, a Republican, also condemned the move.

Around 200 members of the Texas National Guard are currently in Chicago, where federal authorities have encountered local resistance to immigration enforcement operations.

Keona Zachyua Hampton, 22, allegedly shot and killed a woman in the parking lot of a Dallas PetSmart last week after she reportedly declined to say “thank you” when the victim, 41-year-old Cecilia Simpson, held the door open for her.

Simpson confronted Hampton when the suspect didn’t acknowledge the gesture at a nearby store, sparking a heated argument. Hampton followed Simpson and her daughter into the PetSmart, where staff asked her to leave when she continued berating them.

As Simpson was driving away, Hampton threw a bottle at her vehicle, leading to a physical fight that turned deadly when Hampton shot Simpson. A witness who tried to administer CPR said Hampton was taunting Simpson, urging her to “fight outside.”

Simpson’s mother called the shooting “senseless,” adding that, “It’s like a bad dream that I can never wake up from.”

Article Icon 1Fake Story about Texas Woman Goes Viral

A fake story about an Olive Garden waitress who was arrested for throwing breadsticks at customers who didn’t tip is making life miserable for Megan Ashlee Davis, a student in College Station.

The social media post, which includes an authentic mugshot of Davis, has been viewed by over five million people.

Davis was arrested for public intoxication in August, just a few weeks after her mother’s death. A Facebook account with 1.7 million followers used Davis’ mugshot and a recycled story to create the post, which appears to have been deleted.

It’s probably like my worst nightmare coming to reality,” said Davis, who shared that she has been the victim of inappropriate comments and AI-generated images using her mugshot. The post has proliferated despite a statement from Olive Garden saying the story isn’t true.

Digital Dollar 2.0 May Be Coming

On July 17, while the press chased shiny objects and Epstein headlines, the House passed the GENIUS Act.

According to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, it’s a bill that contains “the entire setup, groundwork, and infrastructure to move from cash to digital currency.”

What appears to be “modernization” may actually be a transition to programmable money. In other words, a digital currency that could be controlled by the federal government.

When cash dies, access to your savings can become conditional.

That’s not theoretical. Ask Canada’s truckers what happened when their bank accounts were frozen.

This isn’t a currency debate. It’s a sovereignty crisis.

If they control your money, they control you.
