Texas To Vote On 17 Constitutional Amendments
Seventeen constitutional amendments will be on the ballot for Texans on Nov. 4, including measures to limit state taxation, require citizenship for voting, and codify parental rights.
Among the measures on the ballot are proposals to prohibit the Texas legislature from imposing a tax on capital gains, to authorize judges to deny bail to offenders with serious felonies, and to bar the legislature from taxing securities transactions.
All amendments on the ballot passed both chambers with a two-thirds majority and need only a simple majority vote from Texas voters to be adopted. You can read a summary of each amendment on the ballot here.
