Question: Where in Texas can you visit the last intact Humble Oil service station?
Answer: San Antonio. Built as early as 1927 near what would become I-10, it was abandoned by 1977 after Exxon acquired Humble Oil. In 2009, it won the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s inaugural This Place Matters contest. The building got a facelift after the owner’s business partner opened a dog boarding service next door in 2012.
