Question: When are Texans allowed to buy fireworks?

Answer: State law allows Texans to buy fireworks for Independence Day (June 24 through midnight on July 4) and New Year’s (December 20 through midnight on January 1) across the state. Other holidays are contingent on approval from the county commissioners court: Texas Independence Day, San Jacinto Day, Memorial Day, and Diwali, which occurs in the fall. Fireworks can also be purchased at a location within 100 miles of the border with Mexico for Cinco de Mayo, provided the county commissioners court has authorized the sale.
