Question: What city in Texas is home to the nation’s oldest remaining Spanish aqueduct?

Answer: San Antonio

Completed in 1745, the Espada Aqueduct connects two canals on either side of Sixmile Creek. It supported nearby missions by diverting water from the San Antonio River. The aqueduct was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965 and received $290,000 for repairs in 2023, funded by the Great American Outdoors Act.
