Storm Knocks TV Station Off Air
Severe thunderstorms produced flash floods and knocked out power to thousands of people across North Texas Sunday night.
Some areas saw over 3 inches of rain and winds up to 76 mph, flooding low-lying roads and causing power outages that affected more than 47,000 in the Metroplex and 16,000 in East Texas.
Homes in McKinney and Pantego caught fire from suspected lightning strikes, and the roof of a Braum’s in Bonham was badly damaged.
In Abilene, the TV studio for ABC affiliate KTXS was badly damaged, knocking the station off the air. “Damage is extensive, but we are lucky enough to have walked away untouched,” said the station’s morning meteorologist, Caiden Dinkins.
Soros-Backed Group Aims to Turn Texas Blue
Democrats are launching a multimillion-dollar initiative to transform Texas into a political battleground, aiming to boost their electoral prospects in the Republican stronghold ahead of the next round of redistricting. The party has not won a statewide election since 1994.
Texas Majority PAC, which is backed by liberal billionaire George Soros, launched its “Blue Texas” initiative on Monday in collaboration with the Texas Democratic Party and about a dozen county parties.
Organizers will hold a series of rallies this month and visit two dozen cities next month in an effort to recruit candidates and volunteers for the 2026 midterm elections, particularly the U.S. Senate race.
“There is no choice for Texas or for anyone else in the country who wants to see a Democrat in the White House after 2032 but to find a pathway through Texas,” said Katherine Fischer, Texas Majority PAC’s deputy executive director.
Invasive Sheep, ‘Texas Time,’ and Mini Trucks
During this year’s legislative session, lawmakers passed some intriguing bills addressing issues like invasive sheep, “Texas Time,” and Japanese mini trucks.
Invasive Barbary sheep, also known as aoudads, can now be hunted by helicopter for sport. They join feral hogs and coyotes on the short list of animals that can be harvested in this way. The large sheep are vectors for disease and compete with native Texas grazers.
If authorized by Congress, House Bill 1393 would implement daylight saving time statewide, joining 20 other states that have passed laws to abolish biannual clock changes. The new standard would be known as “Texas Time.”
And Texans can now register and drive imported Japanese mini trucks that are at least 25 years old. Also known as “kei trucks,” the vehicles have gained a cult following and become popular as inexpensive farm trucks.

Meet the Genius Who Invented Plastic That Dissolves in Water
The world produces 450 million metric tons of plastic waste each year. Microplastics are seeping into our oceans and food. They even show up in our bodies. So you can imagine how revolutionary a new kind of plastic that completely dissolves in water would be.
Thatʼs exactly what Timeplast has created. The company patented a water-soluble, time-programmable plastic that vanishes without harming the environment—and they’re taking investors for a limited time.
Here’s why you don’t want to miss this opportunity.
Revolutionary plastic that vanishes completely—no microplastics, no landfill waste.
6,000% sales growth in the company’s first month on the market.
