Article Icon 1Student Arrested, Expelled for Taunting Kirk Mourners

A Texas Tech student was arrested and is “no longer enrolled” after taunting and assaulting a group holding a vigil for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Friday. Camryn Giselle Booker, 18, was charged with disorderly conduct, assault, battery, and resisting arrest. She was released on a $200 bond.

Booker was recorded jumping up and down and hurling profanity-laced insults at the group, prompting a man in a red MAGA hat to remark, “Evil is real, people—and it kind of looks like that.” A police officer reported seeing Booker hit the man in the head.

In a social media post, Gov. Greg Abbott said Booker “Definitely picked the wrong school to taunt the death of Charlie Kirk.”

In recent days, vigils for the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder have drawn hundreds of mourners in Fort Worth, Denton, Granbury, Boerne, Axtell, College Station, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.

TxDOT has begun demolishing several bridges over a three-mile stretch of I-35 in Waco as part of a $234 million project to widen the highway from six to eight lanes and extend frontage roads.

Work began last Friday with the closure of South New Road and the turnaround under I-35 to allow crews to remove the highway’s northbound bridge. All lanes and the turnaround were reopened yesterday morning.

18th Street will be closed this evening and reopen on Friday, while 17th Street will be shut down over the weekend. The My35 Waco South project, which will include a diverging diamond intersection at Valley Mills Drive, is expected to be completed in 2029.

This is the worst city I’ve ever seen for construction. It’s extremely unsafe, to be honest with you,” said resident Greg Goodfellow.

Article Icon 1Popular YouTuber Visits Texas

Darren Watkins Jr., a 20-year-old YouTuber who goes by IShowSpeed, visited Dallas and Houston over the past two days as part of a 35-day cross-country livestream. Watkins has 44 million subscribers and was named the most influential social media content creator by Rolling Stone.

Yesterday in Dallas, Watkins had breakfast at Shug’s Bagels and then drove through the SMU campus, where he played video games at one of the school’s fraternity houses.

He also competed in several sports contests at Dude Perfect’s new Frisco headquarters, rode the carousel at a local mall, and raced a horse at The Stockyards in Fort Worth.

The day before in Houston, he was kicked out of a mall and banned from coming back “cause I went ice skating.” Next, he attempted to do a backflip at the Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park and visited Bun B’s Trill Burgers.

Learn from this investor’s $100M mistake.

Grammy-winning artist will.i.am passed on investing $200K in Airbnb in 2010. It’d be worth more than $100M today.

Now, the investors behind Venmo and Uber are backing another real estate disruptor. And this time, you can invest.

Meet Pacaso. Created by a former Zillow exec who sold his first venture for $120M, Pacaso brings co-ownership to the $1.3T vacation home industry.

They’ve facilitated over $1B in luxury home transactions and earned service fees from 2,000+ owners. That has resulted in more than $110M in gross profits to date. They’ve even reserved their Nasdaq ticker, PCSO.

And you can join them today for just $2.90/share. But there’s no time to waste. Invest in Pacaso before the opportunity ends Thursday night.
