Article Icon 1Dallas ICE Field Office Targeted in Shooting

A shooting at the Dallas ICE field office on Wednesday morning killed one detainee and wounded two others. No officers were injured, and the suspected gunman—identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn—died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Law enforcement found bullets engraved with the message “ANTI-ICE” next to the gunman on the rooftop of a nearby building. The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed at least one of the injured detainees is a Mexican national.

In a FOX News interview, ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan said the shooter fired multiple rounds “indiscriminately” into the facility. Later in the day, FBI agents searched homes in Durant, Oklahoma, and in the Collin County town of Fairview, where records show Jahn’s parents live.

The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop,” Vice President JD Vance said. President Trump linked the attack to left-wing rhetoric: “This violence is the result of the Radical Left Democrats constantly demonizing Law Enforcement, calling for ICE to be demolished, and comparing ICE Officers to ‘Nazis.’

Article Icon 1Abilene’s Stargate Data Center Up and Running

Part of Abilene’s massive new data center is up and running, and several elected officials and business leaders associated with Stargate—the $500 billion collaboration between OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank spearheading the project—toured the facility Tuesday.

When it’s fully completed, the 1,100-acre complex will house 60,000 server racks in eight data centers for hosting AI-powered applications like ChatGPT. Over 6,000 construction workers report to the site daily, and the facility is expected to create 1,700 permanent jobs.

Coinciding with Tuesday’s event, Stargate announced it will build five more data centers across the country, including two in Shackelford and Milam Counties. “Texas is ground zero for AI,” said U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, highlighting the state’s business-friendly environment.

Some residents have expressed concerns about the project’s water and energy usage. Local reservoirs are about half full, and when fully operational, the data center is expected to consume 900 megawatts of electricity, some of which will be supplied by an onsite gas-fired power plant.

Article Icon 1Shelley Duvall’s Home Hits Market

The Blanco home and 10-acre ranch of actress Shelley Duvall has hit the market for $699,000. Last weekend, scores of Duvall’s personal items were sold in a two-day estate sale organized by San Antonio-based Vogt Auction Galleries.

Duvall was born in Fort Worth and retired to the small Hill Country town in 1994 after a Hollywood career that included starring roles in the 1980s classic films The Shining and Popeye.

She died at the age of 75 last year without a will, sparking a legal fight between her longtime partner, musician Dan Gilroy, and her three brothers.

Some of the items included in the estate sale were personal photo albums, an autographed poster for The Shining, and materials used to produce Faerie Tale Theatre and Shelley Duvall’s Bedtime Stories. Approximately 100 additional items—including her scripts for The Shining and Popeye—will be auctioned off next month.
