Good Morning! On this day in 1835, Nacogdoches city attorney Antonio Menchaca warned the governor that Texans there planned to disarm local Mexicans. The Texas Revolution broke out less than two months later.
In case you missed it, this week on The Flyover Podcast, Ayla counted down the 10 renovations homeowners regret most. 74% of homeowners who renovated in the last five years wish they’d done something differently, and the most regretted upgrades aren’t what you’d expect. Ayla broke down where these projects go wrong and shared simple tricks that could save you from making the same mistakes. So before you pick up a paintbrush or a sledgehammer, find out whether your dream upgrade is one homeowners wish they could undo. And if you’ve already survived a remodel, see if your biggest regret made the list. Tune in here!
It’s easy to overlook what happens behind prison walls, but for thousands across Texas, it’s where they’re searching for a fresh start. Access to hope, guidance, and purpose can change everything. That’s what today’s partner, Prison Fellowship, is helping make possible.

Austin Woman Chasing All 89 Parks
Emma Keteler quit her corporate job in January to visit every one of Texas’ 89 state parks before the year is out.
The 29-year-old Austin social media manager is at 49 and counting, with a November wedding squeezing what’s left. One stretch got her 11 parks in seven days.
Three rules govern every stop: camp where camping is the draw, swim wherever swimming is allowed, and do whatever the park is best known for. That has meant 35-degree plunges in January and tent nights at 85 degrees.
Caprock Canyons ranks near the top of her favorites list so far, with red-rock cliffs and the state bison herd roaming loose. So does Daingerfield in East Texas, a spring-fed lake ringed by pines.
Keteler had camped exactly once before she turned 21.

Laptop Fire Burns Passengers before Landing
A passenger’s laptop caught fire in the cabin of an American Airlines flight from Atlanta as it landed at DFW Airport Friday evening.
The pilot of Flight 2398 told the tower that four to five passengers had been burned and asked for medical crews on the ground.
The Airbus A321 was carrying 133 people. Flight attendants contained the device, and the plane taxied to the gate under its own power.
One person was treated at the scene and released. American Airlines confirmed smoke came from a customer’s device.

Officer Commandeers Uber To Chase Suspect
A Houston police officer jumped into a stranger’s Uber and told the driver to go after a fleeing suspect.
It started Aug. 7 with a terroristic threat call. Police say a woman at an apartment pool with her children argued with a man who then threatened to shoot them.
Officers taking her statement tried to detain the man when he stepped outside. He slipped their grip and ran.
Driver Anthony Baines was stopped nearby when the suspect crossed in front of his car and an officer climbed in. “Go, go, go, go!” the officer yelled, according to Baines’ video.
Baines drove them around the block to the complex, where the officer got back in his own car. The suspect got away, and the case remains open.
