Article Icon 1Dispute Grows over ICE Target’s Identity

The man ICE was targeting in a Houston-area pursuit that broke a construction worker’s leg died years ago, an immigrant advocacy group said Friday.

FIEL Houston identified the man in ICE’s photo of its target as Jose Hector Jimenez and said his daughter gave the district attorney documents confirming his death. Her husband confirmed that Jimenez was her father.

ICE says it was pursuing Jose Mendoza-Cervantes on Oct. 10 when 48-year-old Miguel Parra Hernandez ran in front of an agent’s SUV. DHS says Mendoza-Cervantes, who is in the country illegally and has four prior arrests, remains wanted.

Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare is weighing an aggravated assault charge against the agent and says ICE isn’t cooperating.

Parra Hernandez remains hospitalized in ICE custody. “This never should have happened in the first place,” said his attorney, Kim Bruno.

A judge on Wednesday will hear the Camp Mystic owners’ challenge to Texas Rangers search warrants seeking their phone data in the criminal investigation of the deadly 2025 flood.

Floodwaters killed 25 campers, two counselors, and owner Richard Eastland at the Hill Country girls’ camp on July 4, 2025. Rangers obtained 14 warrants, including seven for Eastland family members, seeking texts, photos, and browsing history.

The family’s attorneys call the warrants a “fishing expedition” and say they could expose privileged attorney-client communications. The state says a separate team was already set up to screen out privileged material and agreed not to review the seized data until the court rules.

The hearing was moved from Oct. 12, and a judge appointed a temporary prosecutor after the Kerr County district attorney asked to step aside over ties to the family. No one has been charged.

Austin ranks as America’s eighth-spookiest city in a home security company’s study, the only Texas city in the top 10.

Vivint scored 74 cities on seven measures, including reported ghost sightings, haunted places, and spooky internet searches. San Antonio came in at No. 11 and Houston at No. 15, with Dallas also in the top 20.

Texas swept the top three spots for reported ghost sightings: Austin with 115, Dallas with 64, and Houston with 48. San Antonio’s 56 reported haunted places trailed only Los Angeles.

Galveston and Marfa landed far lower, at No. 56 and No. 57. Virginia City, Nevada, topped the list.

The Pentagon’s Got Their Eye on This Tech

One of the biggest indicators for forward-thinking investors is where the US government puts their money. They move first on the technology they know is going to shape the future.

First, they bet big on jet engines. Then drones. Now? It’s flying cars.  This August, the U.S. Air Force just signed a $142M deal for a flying car company building five-seater fleets. But our nation’s defense can’t stop there. Our nation’s most covert operations need smaller, personal aircrafts. And Doroni, the company positioned to lead the $100B personal eVTOL category, aims to capture this opportunity.

Their flying car, the H1-X opens the skies to all members of the military. Their SOULAI platform is so intuitive, you can pilot their aircraft after 25 hours of training. And its patented ducted fan system is designed to be safer than competitors.

This is your chance to get in at the private stage. Invest in Doroni today at $3.30 share before the share price changes after 10/22.

Morgan Stanley Calls this a $9T Opportunity

Morgan Stanley predicts that the flying car industry will grow 185,850% by 2050. In fact, they say it will reach $9 trillion in size, more than twice as valuable as today’s global car market.
