Own The Flyover
A Message of Thanks — And a Big Update for The Flyover Readers

Thanks to you, our readers, The Flyover has officially raised $1 million in less than two weeks through our reader-owned investment campaign.

That kind of momentum puts us among the fastest crowdfunding (Regulation CF) campaigns in the country—and it’s only possible because you believe in what we’re building together. Thank you!

We launched The Flyover to give Americans a bias-free, fact-first alternative to legacy media. Your overwhelming response tells us this mission matters—and we’re humbled by your trust.

While the 10% bonus shares for our first $1 million raised have now ended, we’re excited to announce:
  • 5% Bonus Shares for the next $1 million raised.
  • PLUS another 5% Bonus if you’ve been a Flyover reader for over a month.
That means qualifying readers can still earn up to 10% bonus shares—but only during this next $1 million tranche.  We have made shares as easily available and affordable as possible at $2 per share, with a $750 minimum.

If you missed the first $1 million, don’t miss the next. Every share you buy helps us grow The Flyover and bring bias-free news to more readers than ever. Together, we’re proving that honest, fact-first journalism has a future—and that future can be owned by the people who read it.

The Roundup

Article Icon 1Paxton Escalates Fight Against O’Rourke

Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows indicated Friday he expects the chamber to make quorum when it convenes at noon today. House Democratic Caucus Chair Gene Wu signaled that members would be returning to Texas over the weekend, saying “people are exhausted.”

A congressional redistricting plan was filed with only slight revisions from that proposed during the first special session. On Saturday, Beto O’Rourke led a rally opposing the redistricting effort at the Texas Capitol, urging thousands of activists to “not allow this moment to pass without a fight.”

Meanwhile, O’Rourke’s Powered by People PAC announced it had donated over $1 million to the Texas House Democratic Caucus and other groups during the special session. Earlier this month, Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a court order blocking the group from fundraising for the quorum-breaking lawmakers.

In response to O’Rourke’s announcement, Paxton secured an amended order blocking the PAC from transferring funds out of state and asked the judge to revoke its charter. “In Texas, lawless actions have consequences, and Beto’s finding that out the hard way,” said Paxton.

Article Icon 1Judge Orders Infowars Sale

Talk show host Alex Jones has been ordered to sell his Infowars assets to pay over $1 billion owed to families of the 26 victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which Jones claimed was a hoax aimed at stripping Americans of their guns.

A court-appointed receiver is expected to take control of Austin-based Infowars in the coming days. Jones blasted the decision on his radio show Thursday, saying he had another studio ready to go and promising “they won’t get me off the air.”

Last year, the satirical outlet The Onion won an auction to purchase Infowars, but a federal bankruptcy judge ruled the bidding process was flawed. A representative for the company indicated continued interest in turning the website into a parody outlet.

Jones said his attorneys would appeal the latest ruling, and he has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to dismiss the financial judgments against him.

Article Icon 1Galveston’s Record-Setting Sidewalk

A 7.3-mile section of Galveston’s famous seawall doubles as the longest continuous sidewalk in the world. A representative from Guinness World Records will certify that distinction at an event on Sept. 6.

The seawall was built in sections in the years after the devastating hurricane of 1900, which killed up to 12,000 people and remains the deadliest natural disaster in U.S. history. It has protected the city on numerous occasions since then.

Official recognition from Guinness has been discussed for years by Visit Galveston, the city’s tourism office. The designation surpasses the record previously held by Tampa’s 4.5-mile Bayshore Boulevard.

This isn’t just a record. It’s a testament to our town’s resilience,” Galveston Mayor Craig Brown said. The office is asking 8,000 people to line the seawall during next month’s event, which will coincide with the 125th anniversary of the storm.
