Article Icon 1Texas May Bus Migrants To ICE

Texas officials are reportedly considering a plan to transport illegal immigrants directly to ICE holding centers for expedited deportation as part of Operation Lone Star.

The move would mark a significant departure from the state’s current practice of busing migrants to so-called sanctuary cities, a strategy to highlight the need for enhanced border security and the effects of illegal immigration.

Although Gov. Greg Abbott has yet to comment on the proposal, Tom Homan, President-elect Trump’s designated border czar, expressed interest in collaborating with Texas on the initiative.

“We’re going to help them finish this job and secure Texas, and we’re going to work in partnership,” Homan said.

The meteorologist for ERCOT, Texas’ power grid operator, has predicted a warmer-than-average winter but cautioned about an increased risk of extreme cold, similar to the conditions that caused widespread outages in February 2021.

During a Tuesday board meeting, ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas sought to reassure Texans that the grid is prepared for an event similar to Winter Storm Uri, highlighting 3,000 weatherization inspections and the addition of over 10,000 megawatts of new power generation since 2021.

Critics, however, warned that natural gas plants have not been sufficiently winterized and contended that too many energy-inefficient homes and buildings are straining the grid.

We’re “better off than we were in February 2021 but not out of the woods,” said Doug Lewin, who authors a newsletter and hosts a podcast on the Texas energy market.

Mike Rogers, a 71-year-old from Lubbock, completed the Great World Race last month, running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days to raise money for charity.

They all think I’m crazy. My friends, my family, my church—everyone thinks I’m insane,” Rogers said.

The race began on a glacier in Antarctica and took him through Cape Town, Perth, Istanbul, Cartagena, and Miami. Along the way, he endured blisters, freezing rain, and 100-degree heat.

One of only 55 or so participants to compete in this year’s race, “More Miles Mike” said running has helped him manage his blood pressure and asthma. “As long as I’m running, I feel great,” he said.

The Flyover

Stability. Wealth Protection. Long Term Financial Growth. This is what many Americans are searching for when they invest in precious metals like gold and silver. But what’s the best way to buy these precious metals? Do you buy an ETF (Exchange Traded Fund), or do you get your hands on the real thing?

Here’s the thing about ETFs… You don’t actually own the gold or silver. You can’t take physical delivery of the metal. Taxes and fees can eat away at your gains. Shares may or may not have sufficient gold or silver backing. But with physical gold or silver, you are the one in the driver’s seat.

You have the control you’re looking for with your hard-earned money. If you want to learn more about buying and controlling your own physical gold and silver, get your free copy of…
