The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced Wednesday that its Chicago branch would relocate to Dallas and become NYSE Texas, making it the newest addition to “Y’all Street.” This move follows recent investments by Nasdaq in nearby Irving and the formation of the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), which is on track for an early 2026 launch.

The NYSE did not specify a timeline for the move, which will depend on regulatory filings. NYSE president Lynn Martin hailed Texas as “a market leader in fostering a pro-business atmosphere,” noting it leads the nation with the most NYSE listings, representing over $3.7 trillion in market value.

In September, Nasdaq announced it had opened a new regional management division in Irving. Last month, TXSE filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for approval to open. TXSE has raised $161 million so far from major investment firms like BlackRock, Citadel Securities, and Charles Schwab.

Gov. Greg Abbott celebrated NYSE’s announcement, saying, “Texas is the most powerful economy in the nation, and now we will become the financial capital of America.

Article Icon 1Austin Pet Microchip Company Shuts Down

Save This Life, an Austin-based pet microchip company, has reportedly discontinued operations for failing to pay its state franchise tax obligation, potentially affecting millions of pets.

Although the company’s website remained accessible as of Wednesday, microchips registered with the company are not searchable and have been removed from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) database.

According to USA Today, calls to Save This Life’s number were met with an out-of-service message, and emails to the company received an automatic reply saying a new support ticket would be created.

Pet owners whose animals were registered with the company must now re-register their microchips with another provider. AAHA advises checking microchip numbers and using their registry lookup tool to determine if a pet’s chip is still active.

Article Icon 1Nine Texas Eateries Make Yelp’s Top 100

Yelp released its 2025 list of the top 100 restaurants in the country, and nine Texas eateries made the cut.

Tatsumi Sushi in Austin is the highest-ranked restaurant in the Lone Star State, at No. 25. Two other sushi spots also made the list: EBESU Robata & Sushi in Plano (No. 32) and Takara Sushi & Asian Bistro in Cedar Park (No. 97).

Dallas-Fort Worth boasted the most highly-rated restaurants of any metro in the state, with five included in the top 100. Two restaurants in the Austin area made the list, while one in San Antonio and another in Houston were included.

Yelp curated the list based on ratings, the number of reviews, and input from local experts. Around 80% of the featured restaurants offer meals for less than $30 a person.
