Good morning! On this day in 1909, country singer Kenneth Threadgill was born in Peniel. Known for his songs “Silver-Haired Daddy of Mine” and “There’s A Star-Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere,” Threadgill owned an Austin tavern where Janis Joplin gave several performances.
While the sight of folks riding horseback along a country road is to be expected in Texas, three cowboys in Fort Bend County thought they owned the road, and they wanted to make sure everyone else knew that. Check out the story below!

School Districts Respond To Uptick In Threats
School districts across the state are on alert for online threats, as many have reported an alarming uptick in such incidents, forcing them to cancel classes and reschedule events.
Although some social media posts have been identified as hoaxes, authorities aren’t taking any chances, and students in San Antonio, Donna, Kingsville, Austin, and other districts have been apprehended for making threats to inflict violence.
In response to recent threats, Waxahachie ISD urged parents to talk to their children about using social media responsibly, warning that “school safety is not a joking matter.”

Slain Girl’s Mom Urges Senate to Pass Border Bill
Alexis Nungaray, mother of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was allegedly killed by two illegal immigrants from Venezuela, testified before a Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington D.C. on Tuesday in support of the Justice for Jocelyn Act.
On Wednesday, the defendants asked a judge to issue a gag order on those involved in the case, citing the national attention it has drawn.
The proposed legislation aims to require Immigration and Customs Enforcement to make all reasonable efforts to keep undocumented immigrants in custody before releasing them.
Alexis Nungaray urged lawmakers to improve border security and monitoring of undocumented immigrants, emphasizing the need to protect children and ensure safety within the country. Watch the testimony here.

Texas Panel on Cybersecurity Hacked
A Texas House committee hearing on cybersecurity threats was ironically disrupted Tuesday when hackers infiltrated the Zoom livestream, displaying apparent Russian military videos and offensive messages.
The House Select Committee on Securing Texas from Hostile Foreign Organizations ended the stream early after hackers posted Russian-language insults and used racist usernames.
Committee chairman Rep. Cole Hefner said the attack’s source was unknown but noted it underscored the real cybersecurity threats facing the state.

The common belief is that the timing of your morning meal is everything when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight; however, this is simply not true.
It’s important to understand that the type of food you eat in the morning is what allows you to have more energy, sharper focus, healthier weight, smoother skin, and better digestion.
What’s really shocking is that Americans are learning that what they thought was a “healthy breakfast” is actually leading to poor digestion and weight gain.
