Good Morning! On this day in 1942, the hospital at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio was renamed in honor of Gen. Roger Brooke, a specialist in infectious diseases and the hospital’s commanding officer from 1928 to 1933.
There was some unexpected Texas sightseeing on Tuesday as several kangaroos escaped from the Waco Wildlife Rescue. One was seen hopping through city streets before police and staff wrangled the marsupials back to safety. What’s the strangest animal you’ve seen on the loose? Hit reply and let us know!

The Final Push to 1,000+
Ten days ago, we set out on a mission to reach 1,000 investors. Without you, we could not make it. But here’s the deal: we only have one day left.
If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, now is the moment to step in and be one of the final investors who help us cross this milestone. Together, we can finish strong.
Invest in The Flyover today
You Have Questions. We Have Answers!
One of the top questions we get is: How do I get a return on my investment?
We believe in transparency. Like all investments, this carries risk—but here’s why The Flyover is different: we’re already profitable after just two years, with 80% gross margins and 24% net income. This puts The Flyover in the top 1% of media start-ups.
The three most common ways investors can realize returns are:
- A Sale: A larger media company or strategic partner could acquire The Flyover. If that day comes, we’d only partner with those who uphold our high standards. CNN or NPR need not apply.
- Public Listing: While we’re private today, the future could include listing on a stock exchange, giving owners and investors freedom to buy and sell their shares.
- Profit Distributions (Dividends): Because we’re profitable now, unlike most startups, dividends are a real possibility in the future.
To recap: 1. Sale. 2. Listing. 3. Distributions.
Your Last Chance
This is your opportunity to be part of something truly unique. Help us surpass our goal of 1,000 investors—we have one day left—and still qualify for up to 10% bonus shares.
It all comes down to this final day. Will you step up?

Dallas County Jail Reaches Capacity
Dallas County Jail hit 100% capacity for the first time in nearly 20 years, with the latest count of 7,124 inmates—20 more than the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, the system’s main facility, is authorized to hold.
Officials cite outdated software, slow state prison transfers, and a new law that further delays release times.
With no space left, county leaders are weighing costly options, including paying other jails—possibly in other states—to take the overflow.
Dallas County officials are considering a property tax increase of $0.222188 per $100 of property value to cover the tens of millions of dollars in added expenses.

Texas Leads U.S. in Uninsured Residents
Texas leads the nation in uninsured residents, with 17.4% of the state lacking health coverage, more than double the national rate of 8.6%.
The crisis is most pronounced in South Texas, where 29.7% of McAllen metro residents are uninsured, followed by Laredo at 28.4% and Brownsville at 26.7%.
According to a recent study, key factors include Texas’ lack of Medicaid expansion, higher-than-average insurance costs, and immigration-related eligibility limits.
Texas’s estimated 2.1 million illegal immigrants further contribute to the uninsured rate, as they are ineligible for ACA benefits.

Cowboys Open Season Against Eagles
The Dallas Cowboys open the NFL season tonight with a primetime game against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas enters the game as an 8.5-point underdog.
It’s a new era in many ways for the Cowboys. New additions—like veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark and wide receiver George Pickens—join a team still reeling from a messy breakup with edge rusher Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers a week ago.
First-year Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is trying to keep perspective for his team: “Every game we play is just another championship opportunity,” he said of the matchup. “You don’t get extra credit for beating the Eagles in Philly.”
The game kicks off at 7:20 p.m. on NBC and Peacock. You can follow all of the live action, including score and stats, here.
