Question: What city in Texas is home to the nation’s oldest aqueduct?

Answer: San Antonio. Completed in 1745, the Espada Aqueduct connects two canals on either side of Sixmile Creek. It supported the nearby missions with water diverted from the San Antonio River. The aqueduct was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and it received a $290,000 repair in 2023 with funding from the Great American Outdoors Act.
