Good Morning! On this day in 1883, Susanna Dickinson died in Austin. She and her baby daughter had walked out of the Alamo alive in 1836. Santa Anna sent her to Sam Houston with a letter of warning.
Neck pain is one of the most common aches afflicting people, and in many cases, doctors can’t pinpoint a single cause. It could be your posture, your pillow, or something else entirely. But physical therapists say there’s a fix that works better than rest or painkillers, and it takes just a few minutes a day. So what’s really behind your neck pain, and which five exercises can help you strengthen your way out of it? Amy has the full story on today’s episode of The Flyover Podcast. Tune in here!

Firing Squad for Fort Hood Killer
President Trump has approved a U.S. Army firing squad execution for Nidal Hasan, the former Army major who killed 13 people in the 2009 shooting at Fort Hood, the Pentagon said Monday evening.
Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, walked into a Soldier Readiness Center on Nov. 5, 2009, shouted “Allahu Akbar,” and opened fire with a laser-sighted handgun before a civilian police sergeant shot him. A 2013 court-martial sentenced him to death.
Hasan admitted at trial that he was the gunman, saying he fired to protect Islamic insurgents from U.S. forces. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth recommended the firing squad, and the Army secretary will set the time and place.
No one has been executed under the military justice system since 1961, when Pvt. John Bennett was hanged at Fort Leavenworth. Hasan could stall his execution for years by appealing in civilian federal court.

Trump Rallies in San Antonio for Paxton
President Trump headlines a campaign rally for Attorney General Ken Paxton at San Antonio’s Freeman Coliseum on Wednesday, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and the president expected to speak around 6 p.m.
Paxton’s campaign says it raised $18 million in the third quarter, though he’s trailed Democrat James Talarico in most public polls. Anti-Trump protesters plan to line Houston Street outside the coliseum on Wednesday evening.
Gov. Greg Abbott won’t be there. His campaign cited scheduling conflicts. Abbott told a Houston roundtable that Trump “creates excitement among the base” and turns people out.

Dennis Franchione Dies at 75
Dennis Franchione, who went 213-135-2 over 30 seasons as a head coach and turned TCU from a 1-10 team into a top-25 program, died Tuesday at 75, a decade after his first cancer diagnosis.
He took over the Horned Frogs in 1998, a program that hadn’t won a bowl game since 1957, and beat USC 28-19 in that season’s Sun Bowl. Two Western Athletic Conference co-titles followed, with LaDainian Tomlinson leading the nation in rushing both years.
Alabama hired him in 2001, and his second team went 10-3 and finished first in the SEC West while being barred from the postseason due to sanctions tied to the previous staff. He went 32-28 at Texas A&M and resigned in 2007 after his personal assistant sent inside information to boosters paying $1,200 a year.
Franchione retired in 2015 following a second stint at Texas State, where his son Brad worked on his staff, and he published a memoir, Tough Times Never Last: The Coach Fran Story, in 2024. He is survived by his wife, Kim; two daughters, Ashley and Libby; and his son, Brad.

Costa Rica’s Blue Zone Breakfast
Most Americans think eating sweets for breakfast is unhealthy…
But according to Stanford researchers, there’s one delicious “dessert” food that Costa Ricans in the famous “blue zone” there eat each morning that:
✅ Keeps them lean even into their 70s, 80s, and 90s ✅ Slows blood sugar spikes and maintains healthy insulin sensitivity ✅ Keeps their blood pressure at normal, healthy levels ✅ Keeps their hearts and arteries strong and clean well into old age, with a striking lack of heart disease in their population ✅ Even helps them have seven times more centenarians than Japanese people
So what’s the No. 1 dessert food that helps Costa Ricans live healthy, lean, and energetic past 100? (See Report)
P.S. Here’s the surprising part. While Costa Ricans are living longer with this morning ritual, Americans trying it are losing seven pounds in a couple of weeks as a side effect.
