Texas softball beat Texas Tech 10-4 in Game 3 of the Women’s College World Series to win its first NCAA national title on Friday night.

The Longhorns were led by home runs from Mia Scott and Leighann Goode, and another stellar performance from Teagan Kavan, who allowed no earned runs in all 31⅔ innings pitched at the World Series.

Texas Tech’s star pitcher, NiJaree Canady, gave up five runs in the first inning on just 25 pitches, which proved to be insurmountable for the Red Raiders, who scored four runs in the game.

Texas’ win was also a first for coach Mike White, who made the World Series eight previous times but had never won. You can check out the full box score here.
