Article Icon 1 U.S. House Bill Pushes for Control of Texas Grid

Democrats are pushing a bill in Congress to connect ERCOT, Texas’ self-contained power grid operator, to the federal power grid. The House bill is co-sponsored by Texas Rep. Greg Cesar and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.

Casar says the proposed Connect the Grid Act would improve grid reliability for the state by putting ERCOT under the purview of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and points to the major power outages of 2021’s winter storm as proof of the need.

The legislation is likely to face opposition from some prominent Texas officials. Gov. Greg Abbott warned about federal overreach involving ERCOT at the Texas Energy Summit earlier this month.

Article Icon 1 Judge Weighs Border Enforcement Law

U.S. District Court Judge David Ezra expressed skepticism during court arguments today toward Texas’ controversial border bill, Senate Bill 4 (SB 4), which allows state officers to detain, arrest, and deport illegal immigrants.

Lawyers for the Biden Justice Department argued that SB 4 infringes upon federal immigration laws, while Texas officials assert its constitutionality and importance in addressing growing border security issues.

Judge Ezra said he was concerned the Texas law could open the door to the “nightmare” of a patchwork of states, each enforcing its own immigration law. He said he hoped to reach a decision before the law takes effect on March 5.

Article Icon 1 SpaceX Gets Incorporated to Texas

Elon Musk says he has officially relocated SpaceX’s business incorporation to Texas in reaction to a Delaware court ruling that nixed his $55-billion Tesla pay package.

Musk posted the news on X, along with the legal certificate, saying:

“SpaceX has moved its state of incorporation from Delaware to Texas! If your company is still incorporated in Delaware, I recommend moving to another state as soon as possible.”

The legal relocation of SpaceX expands the company’s already significant presence in the Lone Star State. It comes as part of a series of anti-Delaware moves by Musk, who has already relocated his Neuralink firm from Delaware to Nevada.

Filthy Glasses? – Get This!

Many lens cleaning solutions aren’t actually very effective. They only move around and smear the grime and oil which attracts more dirt and grime and causes frequent cleanings.

Worse, micro-cloths that are ‘safe’ to clean your glasses can actually create micro-scratches, damaging the glass and wearing the crystal clear transparency down over time and slowly making it dull and blurry.

Peeps is the first and only screen cleaning product that doesn’t damage your lenses when used as directed. Peeps works on ALL TYPES of lenses: eyeglasses, glasses with special coatings, high-end sunglasses, and more!
