➤ Dallas: Dr. M. Brett Cooper is the third doctor sued by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for alleged violations of the state’s ban on providing sex change treatments to minors. Cooper is an assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a physician at Children’s Medical Center. (More)
➤ Houston: Yesenia Espinoza Mendez, 38, was arrested and charged with arson in connection with a 3-alarm warehouse fire that killed 42-year-old firefighter Marcelo Garcia on Nov. 6. Garcia is the city’s first firefighter to die in the line of duty since 2013. (More)
➤ Southlake: Multiple staff members and elders were removed from their positions at Gateway Church after an investigation revealed they knew former senior pastor Robert Morris had sexually abused a 12-year-old girl in the 1980s before that information became public. (See Details)
