Good morning! On this day in 1852, Fort Clark was established at Las Moras Springs in Kinney County, near present-day Brackettville. It was home to several U.S. Army cavalry regiments over the years until it was closed in 1944. In 1971, it was converted into a private recreation and retirement community. (More)

Megachurch Pastor Resigns in Sex Scandal
The pastor of a North Texas megachurch resigned Tuesday after a woman in her 50s accused him of molesting her over a period of four years beginning when she was 12.
Pastor Robert Morris of Southlake’s Gateway Church, which has nine North Texas campuses and is attended by over 100,000 people every week, recently admitted to “inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady” in the 1980s.
Church leaders were apparently unaware of the nature of his interaction with Cindy Clemishire until a Christian blog ran a story documenting her accusations. Clemishire believes she isn’t Morris’s only victim and is urging others to come forward.
Morris has a television program that airs in over 190 countries, and his radio program airs in more than 6,800 cities.
Migrant Bus Program Slows Down
Gov. Greg Abbott’s migrant busing program has seen a significant decline over the past six months, and three previous destination cities have not received any migrants since January.
In the second half of last year, about 77,000 migrants received state-funded rides from Texas to six cities controlled by Democrat mayors. In the last six months, however, that number has dropped to 17,000, and the state has not sent any migrants to Los Angeles, Philadelphia, or Washington, D.C.
The change can be attributed to an overall drop in illegal border crossings in Texas and counter-measures by destination-city mayors to restrict migrant drop-offs.
Continent’s First Floating Pool Opens in Texas
The Horseshoe Bay Resort in the Texas Hill Country has unveiled a unique 70,000-gallon, 2,850-square-foot floating pool, the first of its kind in North America.
Situated at the edge of Lake LBJ, the pool features an elevated sundeck, private cabanas, and bar service. It is one of several additions to the resort as part of a $150 million capital improvement program. Watch a video here.
Although floating pools are new to North America, they have been around for about a decade in other parts of the world, such as Helsinki, Finland, and Wolfsburg, Germany. A cross-shaped floating pool will open in New York City’s East River in 2025.
