Gov. Greg Abbott has issued an executive order for Texas hospitals to ascertain the immigration status of patients and report on the costs of treating illegal immigrants.

The governor says he will fight for the federal government to pay the associated medical costs, saying that Texas has had to “foot the bill” for the Biden administration’s border policies.

The order requires hospitals to start tracking the data by November 1st and then report findings four times a year, beginning March 1, 2025.

CrossFit CEO Don Faul said the decision to move forward with the Games occurred after speaking with Dukic’s family and other athletes. The organization posted on X/Twitter that “the only cure for grief is to grieve. And the best way to grieve is together.”
