Article Icon 1Chevron Moving to Houston

Chevron is relocating its headquarters from California to Houston in response to growing oil and gas regulations in the Golden State. Houston Mayor John Whitmire made the announcement Friday morning after speaking with Chevron leadership.

Officially beginning January 1, 2025, the transition will span over the next five years. Chevron is the nation’s second largest oil company behind Exxon Mobil, which also moved from California to Houston in 2023.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott celebrated the move, posting to X/Twitter: “Texas is your true home. Drill baby drill.”

Three U.S. citizens freed after a prisoner exchange with Russia arrived in San Antonio Friday morning to be treated at a Brooke Army Medical Center facility that specializes in reintegrating POWs and hostages.

Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, former Marine Paul Whelan, and journalist Alsu Kurmasheva enter the BAMC reintegration program that has also hosted WNBA star Brittney Garner and “Hotel Rwanda” hero Paul Rusesabagina.

The program is part of the typical protocol for “post-isolation support“ as freed U.S. prisoners return home.

Article Icon 1Chip Gaines Clears the List

Waco-based Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines is throwing in his support for teachers by asking them to send in their wishlists for the upcoming school year on X/Twitter.

Gaines joins the #clearthelist movement that encourages people to purchase wishlist items for public school teachers.

Teachers are responding with their Amazon wishlists that include art, health, and learning supplies, as well as books.
