Article Icon 1Texans Rack Up Olympic Medals

With just a few days left before the Olympics end, Texas athletes have racked up numerous medals, including some notable performances you might not have heard about.

DFW residents Vincent Hancock and Conner Prince finished first and second in men’s skeet shooting, and Hancock teamed up with Keller’s Austen Smith to take silver in mixed skeet shooting.

Smith also won bronze in the women’s skeet competition.

Former Aggie Fred Kerley took bronze in the 100-meter dash, adding to his silver medal in the same event at the Tokyo Olympics.

And UT Alum Ryan Crouser won gold in the men’s shot put, becoming the first to win the event in three consecutive Olympics.

Brett Detamore, a Houston developer who faked his disappearance last year, has been indicted on federal wire fraud charges for allegedly embezzling at least $1.5 million from investors.

Prosecutors claim he used fraudulent invoices to divert funds meant for real estate projects to personal luxuries like Super Bowl tickets.

If convicted, Detamore faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and full restitution. His initial court appearance is scheduled for August 12.

Article Icon 1Austin Tops List of Sweatiest U.S. Cities

Austin is the sweatiest city in America, according to a report by home repair website Thumbtack.

The ranking was based on requests for air conditioning-related services in major metropolitan areas from May to June 2024.

Other Texas metros, including Dallas-Fort Worth (4th) and Houston (9th), also ranked in the top ten, alongside Atlanta, Charlotte, and Washington, D.C.

The report suggests that recent heat waves and the high costs associated with keeping homes cool in these cities influenced the rankings.

U.S. Scientist Issues WARNING Against Ozempic

Hi, I’m medical scientist Clint Winters.

This report changes everything if you are trying to lose weight OR beat high blood sugar.

In fact, this discovery changes everything we know about type 2 diabetes.

Here is the breakdown…

I was a full-blown sugar addict. Over a few years, I became morbidly obese and pre-diabetic.

In my desperate search for a personal weight loss aid, I discovered a little-known blood sugar-normalizing alkaloid that can quickly dissolve blood sugar and supercharge fat loss without side effects.

In medical lab back rooms, it is now code-named “Nature’s Ozempic.”

I used this groundbreaking research to lose over 150 pounds of pure body fat and normalize my blood sugar in record time.
